If nothing more, 2020 has made us very aware that we do not control the events that impact us. Even though we wash our hands every time we pass a sink, use hand sanitizer every time we get back into our car from shopping, and we cover our faces with a mask when we are in public, but some still get sick.

Our youngest daughter and her husband, who live with us, tested positive and were very sick, and recovered completely. Their three children, my oldest daughter, my wife and I did not get sick. During that time, my oldest daughter, my wife, and I were tested and the tests were negative. If this virus is as contagious and dangerous as they say, what happened here? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the virus isn’t serious, but some things aren’t adding up. We have gone through influenza seasons when people got very sick and some died.

There were times when the schools were closed, so they could be cleaned and sanitized. Where was all the big concerns then? This is about fear. We are bombarded with daily doses of fear. When you watch the news, you hear the message loud and clear. But what does God say about this?

  • 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) ” For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. ” Our junior church has memorized this verse.
  • Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) ” YEA, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
  • Psalm 27:1 (NKJV) ” The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
  • The first part of Psalm 53:5 (NKJV) ” There they are in great fear where no fear was…”
  • Matthew 28:16 (NKJV) ” And Jesus came to them, saying, all authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on earth. “
  • 1 John 4:4 (NKJV) “you are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
  • Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) ” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

So, if Jesus is in us, and He has all authority, and He never changes, why are we not using that authority that’s in us through Jesus? Why are we not taking a spiritual stand against the enemy, to bind him and denounce his hold on our nation? We break the chains of the strong man through the authority of Jesus Christ.

We command him to let loose of our nation, and we tie the tongues of those who are deceiving the people of our country. We stand together in Jesus’ name to break every hold satan has in our government, and every hidden plot be brought into the light for all to see, in Jesus’ name. In the words of our worship leaders; “Shall we all stand together “. Through Jesus Christ, we can do this.
